Lil's Grand-daughter's Wedding

Lovely yard

Backyard setting for the ceremony.

The happy couple

Lil and yours truly

I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Lyric, my dear friend, Lil's grand-daughter, on Saturday afternoon. The setting was Lil's daughter and son-in-law's beautiful backyard, which happens to butt up to the country club golf course in Waseca. The weather was sunny, though windy and a bit chilly - about 62 degrees - very unusual for August.

The five bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dresses and carried peach color roses; the groomsmen wore tuxedos of the same brown. Jody, Lil's daughter, had special ordered peach-color petunias for all of their gardens early this summer. They along with the green hydrangea were lovely. Suspended from ribbons in the trees were lead crystals and glass votive candle holders. Pathways were marked with tulle and puffs of chiffon. The canopy under which the pastor stood, was flanked with tulle and hydrangea. Jody, who has a degree in interior design, did all of the decorating. She has a reputation for having impeccable taste.

A delicious dinner followed at the country club. The wedding cake was a three-layer cake with strawberry souffle filling with white icing and adorned with edible pearls.

It was so much fun to see Lil and her family again. I had a great time!

What a nice commentary. It was wonderful the way it worked out for you to be there for the whole evening and early morning.

Much love...Lil
