Snow - lots of it!

This is what I woke up to this morning. It's pretty - but has a "dark" side.

The path I shoveled from my front door to my garage.

My drive-way after back-breaking shoveling. The snow is heavy - not fluffy.

It easily measures 10 to 12 inches.

The heavy snow started to fall last night during our choir rehearsal. It was a fun sight to see all of my friends brushing off their cars - like a bunch of kids. I followed a snowplow home for part of my journey, so had no problems. During the night we got about 10 to 12 inches at my home. Much to my annoyance, our new "snow removal service" hadn't shown up yet by the time I had to leave for work, so I shoveled my way to my garage and then proceeded to shovel out my entire driveway. This is no easy job for this old woman!

During this strenuous task, a woman across the street from me managed to get her car stuck and asked to use my shovel, so I walked over and loaned it to her (I never thought I would need a shovel once I moved to a condominium association, but one was left in my garage from the prior owners, so I hung on to it. It's been useful from time to time.). Then another neighbor came to her aid with his shovel, and together they got her car out of the deep white stuff.

We have no snow falling at this point, but they are predicting the "big" stuff to start falling later this afternoon. I can hardly wait - - - not.

Holy cow!! You shoveled a lot and did a good job of it. Hope you were not stiff and sore today. Better keep that shovel or buy a snow blower. Although, that should be unnecessary being as you are paying for that service from your fees.
