11-11-11. What a date! Interestingly, I found this when I looked at Wikipedia for the history of Veterans Day: Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
This year I am saluting my son, Hans, who was recently promoted to Commander. He is currently the Executive Officer on one of the Navy's guided missile cruisers, and I am extremely proud of him. Recently he and Rachel attend the 236th Navy Ball. These photos are from that event.
There are others in my family who have served or are now serving in the military, and I am very proud of them as well. Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veteran's Day! Your son is celebrating it by being feted in Florida by the Navy League. I wish we could get dressed up like that more often!
(PS: Good job on not mentioning the ship by name...)
