Choir Brunch for the Women

Inge, visiting from Norway, a cousin of a choir member, read her version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." She was a hoot!

The church choir of which I'm a part, had an extra rehearsal this morning in preparation for our three concerts next week. The music is really beautiful, and I was happy for this extra rehearsal since I missed so much while home recuperating. Following the rehearsal, I was blessed to attend the brunch for the women in our choir (The men aren't left out. They have a rib fest in the summer.)

39 women attended the event this year — our second annual — which was held at my friend Marney's beautiful home. I can't imagine having 39 ladies come to my home. First of all, where would they park? And once inside — if they all could fit inside my small home — where would they sit or stand?!

Part of the lunch was catered, and the other part was provided by the committee. Talk about delicious food, and FABULOUS conversation and singing! I'm thrilled to be a part of our church choir. Since the church is so large, these 80+ people are really my "small congregation." Not only do we sing, but we care about each other. Each week we have an opportunity to share a prayer request, or give a "praise," for the way the Lord and others have helped us. I know they prayed for me every week while I was recovering. Isn't that neat?!

The random photos were taken during our singing time. They're not posed, so some have their eyes closed and mouths open. Still, I like the way they turned out.

What a lovely group of ladies, into which you perfectly fit! You are lucky to have them and they are lucky to have you. Best of luck on your concert!
